Safe Area on 2D Board Drawings

A quick note that we will be implementing a minor change to the 2D controller board drawings to add an indication of what we are calling a “safe area”. This is an area marked out to keep clear for cable connectors. Here is an example:

This will be implemented progressively with new drawings.

It is important to note however that it is a guide and different designs of cables and connectors may require more or less space. Designers should verify their specific system.

Also, we will not be marking out a safe area for common standardized connectors such as USB, HDMI, Displayport, VGA etc. as we expect designers are suitably familiar with the space requirements for those.
