6. **IR sensor:** Plug a 3-way IR sensor to IR1 (optional).
7. **Jumpers:** Set JA3, JA7, JA8 for panel voltage. Set JB2 and JB3 for backlight control. See tables below.
8. **Video input:** Plug the HDMI, DisplayPort, or USB-C cable into the corresponding input connector.
9. **Power supply:** Plug 12VDC or 24VDC power into PP5. Matching cable: P/N 426013710-3 (1000mm).
10. **Power on:** Switch on the controller using the OSD switch mount.

## Jumper Settings

### Panel Voltage Selection (JA3, JA7, JA8)

**CAUTION:** Incorrect settings can damage the panel and controller.

#### With 12VDC Input (via PP5)

| Panel Voltage | JA3 | JA7 | JA8 |
|--------------|-----|-----|-----|
| 3.3V | 3V3 closed | 1-3 & 2-4 | OPEN |
| 5V | 5V closed | 1-3 & 2-4 | OPEN |
| 12V | OPEN | OPEN | 1-2 & 3-4 |

Max current for 3.3V, 5V = 4A.

#### With 24VDC Input (via PP5)

| Panel Voltage | JA3 | JA7 | JA8 |
|--------------|-----|-----|-----|
| 3.3V | 3V3 closed | 1-3 & 2-4 | OPEN |
| 5V | 5V closed | 1-2 & 3-4 | OPEN |
| 10V | 10V closed | 1-2 & 3-4 | OPEN |
| 12V | 12V closed | 1-2 & 3-4 | OPEN |
| 18V | 18V closed | 1-2 & 3-4 | OPEN |

Max current: 3.3V/5V = 4A; 10V/12V = 4A; 18V = 3A.

Note: JA3, JA7, and JA8 jumpers are marked in **red** on the board for visibility.

### Panel Output Power Pin Selection (JP11, JP12)

Controls which pins on J7 supply panel power.

| Power Output Pins on J7 | JP11 | JP12 |
|--------------------------|------|------|
| Pin 44–51 (panel pins 1–8) | 1-2 CLOSE | 1-2 CLOSE |
| Pin 48–51 only (panel pins 1–4) | 1-2 CLOSE | 1-2 OPEN |
| Pin 44–47 only (panel pins 5–8) | 1-2 OPEN | 1-2 CLOSE |
| No power output on these pins | 1-2 OPEN | 1-2 OPEN |

**CAUTION:** Incorrect settings can damage the panel and controller.

### Panel Timing Selection (JP3)

| JP3 Setting | Panel Model | Resolution | Interface |
|-------------|------------|------------|-----------|
| OPEN | Innolux M280DGJ-L30 | 3840×2160 | V-by-One |
| 1-2 closed | AU Optronics G270ZAN01.1 | 3840×2160 | V-by-One |
| 7-8 closed | BOE MV238QVM-N20 | 3840×2160 | eDP |

The controller sets preferred timing based on JP3 selection but can also support higher resolutions up to 4096×2160. Supports "Resolution default by EDID" for different resolution panels.

### Backlight Control Jumpers

| Jumper | Purpose | Settings |
|--------|---------|----------|
| JB1 | Backlight brightness voltage range | 1-2 closed = 5V max; 2-3 closed = 3.3V max |
| JB2 | Backlight on/off control — signal level | 2-3 = High = +5V; 1-2 = High = +3.3V; Open = High = open collector. **CAUTION:** Incorrect setting can damage inverter. |
| JB3 | Backlight on/off control — polarity | 1-2 = High = CCFT ON; 2-3 = Low = CCFT ON |
| JB5 | Backlight control type | 1-2 = VR/Digital switch mount; 3-4 = Analog 0–5V; 5-6 = PWM |
| JB7 | Backlight control voltage on CNB1 pin 4 (when JB5 = 1-2) | Open = OSD switch mount control (default); 1-2 = 0V; 2-3 = 3.3V/5V (controlled by JB1) |

### Panel Interface Jumpers (JC1–JC10)

| Setting | Meaning |
|---------|---------|
| 1-2 close | High |
| 2-3 close | Low / GND |
| Open | NC (No Connection) |

The NC state is subject to the panel specification's definition of NC.

### Other Jumpers

| Jumper | Purpose | Settings |
|--------|---------|----------|
| JP4 | Reserved | Default: Open |
| JP6 | Input power control | Short = External switch control; Open = Switch mount control |
| JP13 | RS-232 routing (rev 2x–30 only) | 1-2 closed = RS-232 via CN8; 2-3 closed = RS-232 via USB-C (P6) |
| JP14 | RS-232 routing (rev 2x–30 only) | 1-2 closed = RS-232 via CN8; 2-3 closed = RS-232 via USB-C (P6) |

Note: JP13 and JP14 were added in PCB revision 2x–30 (January 2026) as part of the USB-to-RS-232 circuit addition.

## Backlight / Inverter Connection Guide

There are three aspects to consider for inverter connection:

### Power
CNB1 pin 1 = Ground, pin 2 = +12V/+24VDC. Match to inverter specification.
For higher-power inverters, additional current can be taken from CNA1 pin 1.

### Enable
CNB1 pin 3 provides the enable/disable signal for VESA DPMS compliance. Set JB2 and JB3 to match the inverter's specification for enable pin voltage and polarity.

### Brightness Control
CNB1 pins 4 and 5 are available for VR-based brightness control. These connect to CNC1 pins 3, 4, and 5 for external potentiometer control.

**VR Circuit Design Notes:**
- R1 = 470Ω on board (between +5V and CNC1 pin 5)
- External potentiometer (RPOT) plugs into CNC1 pins 3, 4, 5
- Tie BVR_A (CNC1 pin 3) to GND (CNC1 pin 6) for use
- Example with 10KΩ pot: BVR_WIP = 5 × (Rbc / 10.47) volts, providing 0V to ~4.8V range

## Controller Mounting Guidelines

- Ensure at least 10 mm clearance above and 5 mm below the controller.
- Use insulation material between the PCB and any metal mounting plate.
- All mounting holes (3.4 mm diameter) are connected to the ground plane.
- Keep panel signal cables separated from inverter and backlight cables to prevent interference.
- Consider electrical insulation, grounding, EMI shielding, cable management, and heat/ventilation.
- Shielding may be required for regulatory emissions testing.

## Using the Controller Without Buttons

1. Set up and configure the controller/display system with buttons first.
2. Make all desired settings for color, tint, and image position, then power off.
3. Remove the control switches (12-way CNC1 cable).
4. Use a jumper to connect pins 1 and 2 on CNC1 — this fixes the board ON.
5. Configure inverter brightness as needed (may require a resistor, open circuit, or closed circuit depending on inverter).

## PC Settings

Recommended: 60Hz vertical refresh rate for optimal performance (no screen flicker). Refer to the supported graphics modes in the specifications file for all accepted input timings.
