A new 7" widescreen display from Digital View offers OEM system developers and integrators a flexible and cost-effective means of creating non-networked screen media solutions
London, (26 Feb 2007) A new, low-cost open frame display from Digital View offers OEM system developers and integrators a flexible and cost-effective means of creating non-networked digital signage solutions. Ideal for shelf edge, counter top and gondola type retail displays the 7" widescreen display can be easily integrated into product promotions and marketing campaigns.
Digital View offers a comprehensive range of media players, covering both the networked and non-networked screen media environments. Although networked systems are becoming extremely popular, there is still a significant demand for stand-alone systems which can offer high-quality audio and video. This new solution from Digital View is designed to meet this need, and supports all popular media standards such as MPEG-1 and MPEG-4 (DiVX, XviD) for video, as well as JPEG for still images and WMA/MP3 for audio.
With non-networked systems it is important that content can be changed or updated easily and economically. The Digital View 7" display facilitates this through the use of removable media such as SD card, Compact Flash and USB drives. The product operates in Simple Play mode (Repeat-One, Repeat Folders, Repeat All) and features (IR) remote control and an on-screen display (OSD).
Digital View expect the product to be warmly received in a marketplace increasingly looking for high-quality, cost-effective digital signage. "Demand for both networked and non-networked digital signage solutions is gaining real momentum," commented James Henry, Chairman of Digital View. "This is especially true in the retail environment. In fact, the latest edition of the Samsung Screen Survey, now recognised as the most comprehensive measure of UK retail screen media usage, recently revealed that there has been an increase in screen installation of 245% compared with 2 years ago."
