Range of leading display controllers further enhanced

Digital View's DVI-2560 is designed to support WQXGA LCD panel resolutions of 2560x1600, currently in demand across a wide variety of applications

London, (2 Feb 2007) Digital View has further enhanced its industry-leading range of LCD panel controllers. Offering support for ultra-high WQXGA native resolutions of 2560x1600, the company's DVI-2560 is ideal for a variety of professional applications, including medical, engineering, control rooms, CAD, graphics and design, and desktop publishing. There is also an emerging demand for the resolution in digital signage applications.

Digital View controllers are extremely popular, particularly in the out-of-home digital signage market, where the company has a leading presence. Although panels with a resolution of 2560x1600 are not currently widely used in this sector, the demand for them is already beginning to grow as the benefits of screen media become increasingly obvious. This is particularly true in the retail environment. In fact, the latest edition of the Samsung Screen Survey, now recognised as the most comprehensive measure of UK retail screen media usage, recently revealed that there has been an increase in screen installation of 245% compared with 2 years ago. The survey also found that the majority of screens are 21-42", and that LCD/TFT/Plasma is now the most commonly used technology.

The DVI-2560 has been designed, initially to support WQXGA panels from Samsung (LTB300M1-P01) and LG (LM300W01) , though DV anticipates that it will offer support for other manufacturers as they announce similar panels in the near future.. Designed for dual -channel DVI input only, the controller requires only a single supply voltage of 24VDC and derives all necessary voltages to support the controller, panel and inverter with variable brightness

"As the use of screen media continues its steady growth, the demand for support for ever-higher resolutions is inevitable," commented James Henry, Chairman of Digital View. "As a market leader in the hardware environment, customers look to us to be at the leading edge of developments, and this latest controller is designed to support innovators and early-adopters of emerging high-resolution panels."
