About Us |
London, UK (20 April 2006) Digital View has launched a series of media players designed for high-end digital signage applications which demand excellent video quality and a wider range of available media formats. The product offers the increased speed, power, flexibility and sophistication demanded by the latest generation of digital signage applications.
Complementing Digital View's established range of connected digital signage devices, and supporting all the existing media formats of these products, the new RemotePlayer™ 700 Series also supports high-definition 720P widescreen video, Macromedia Flash™ and MPEG-4. As with other Digital View products, the RP700 was designed for often challenging conditions, and will provides network operators with a robust and reliable device that is purpose-designed to operate flawlessly in a wide variety of environments.
Like the popular Remote Player 300 (RP300), the new player has a range of design features which significantly reduce or eliminate problems common to other products. For example, the RP700 series has no fan - critical because fans are a very common cause of failure. Instead, the player has a powerful Pentium M-class processor and is cooled by an advanced heat sink method. To deal with the storage demands of large HD media files, the RP700 uses a military-grade, high-endurance hard disk drive that provides the same level of reliability as solid-state Flash memory storage.
The RP700 is managed using Digital View's RemoteTransfer™ Web-based system. RemoteTransfer gives Digital View clients full control of file, schedule and network management, as well as distribution and monitoring. The system enables users to manage digital media networks, instantly update and manipulate content, schedule programming, group screens and collect field marketing data from any personal computer, using a simple but secure login and password. RemoteTransfer is a managed service platform that takes virtually all IT demands off the hands of network operators.
This newest player can be integrated seamlessly in existing Digital View networks, or easily blended with other networked Digital View players - allowing network operators to tune deployments according to requirements. The RP700 also takes full advantage of Remote Transfer's many built-in features, including touch screen and remotely triggered interactivity, auto-generated content and split screens, Wi-Fi and wireless network connectivity, real-time performance monitoring, and unparalleled network and player controls that reduce field servicing requirements to absolute minimums.
