Digital View's New Marine Display

Cirque Corporation, a leading provider of input technology solutions, today announced that its Hidden Touch Surface(TM) (HTS) technology has been incorporated into Digital View's new SeaView(TM) Marine Display, an LCD monitor designed for marine environments. The SeaView(TM) Marine Display is currently being showcased at the International Boat Show in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., from Oct. 26 - 30, 2000.

For its new SeaView(TM) Marine Display, Digital View, a developer and producer of flat panel related products, incorporated Cirque's HTS technology to emulate PC mouse functions and application management. The SeaView(TM) is designed specifically for on-board communications with feature-rich benefits such as high-resolution images, trustworthy full-function interaction through touch-labeled buttons and auto-adjusting display brightness for below deck and full sunlight viewing visibility.

"Providing our HTS technology for Digital View's new SeaView(TM) Marine Display has been a great opportunity for us," said Richard Woolley, executive vice president of sales, marketing and engineering, Cirque Corporation. "The team at Digital View created an excellent, fully-submersible LCD monitor screen for the marine environment that offers an alternative input solution through incorporating our touchpads. HTS is a two-part design system consisting of a Flexible Printed Sensor Array and a rigid PCB controller assembly that allows it to be readily integrated into a variety of OEM products."

"Adding Cirque's HTS technology was a strategic choice for our SeaView(TM) Marine Display product line. The initial premise was to design and manufacture a product specifically for the marine market and HTS provided a key technology enabling us to achieve product design goals," said Jon G. Lutter, vice president of sales and marketing, Digital View Inc. "Typical PC mouse solutions did not meet the environmental needs of the marine environment. Cirque's waterproof, capacitive HTS input device was the ideal solution for our needs."

Cirque Corporation manufactures and markets a complete line of input solutions for consumer and OEM markets. Cirque's HTS technology allows touchpad surfaces to be completely hidden and work through solid surfaces. HTS technology has superior navigation abilities and will adhere to curved or contoured surfaces. Quantity one pricing for HTS units begins at $79.95 (U.S.).
