The M3-310 brings together the excellent M3-300 media player and a direct LCD interface providing clear benefits in terms of system integration. This model provides all the all the features of the M3-300 including interactivity, data-logging, USB update and remote control through RS-232 and provides direct connection for LCD panels up to 1600×1200.
The M3-310 was never formally launched as it was originally intended for use in the Digital View range of VideoFlyers however it has since been added to the media player range, for details see: http://www.digitalview.com/digitalsignage/oem/.
Digital View has long been an advocate of solid-state media players rather than generic PC’s . The simple reason is that the benefits generally significantly outweight the compromises.
To address this we have published a note on this topic: http://www.digitalview.com/articles/solidstate-hdmediaplayer-vs-pc.php
Solid-state media players are dedicated devices intended for use in commercial media environments such as digital signage, retail POP video displays and museums. They provide high reliability for lower cost in a smaller package than PC’s.
That is not to say that PC’s cannot be used and in some cases may be the right choice which is why Digital View launched the RP-400 (see http://www.digitalview.com/network/).
